Afterschool Drama Program

First Act Theater Company

Theater programs help to build students’ ability to communicate clearly and confidently. It also allows them to work collaboratively, use imagination to solve problems, perform structured and improvised scenes and to understand storytelling as well as theatre basics.  Drama class is not about “acting talent.” It is about participation over perfection, safe risk-taking, and creative expression.

Objective:

Students will build confidence through speaking and performing. Students will use voice, body, and imagination to create characters and understand storytelling structure. They will collaborate in groups, perform short scenes or plays, practice listening, focus, and creative expression.

First Act Theater Company

Our afterschool drama program provides students with a fun, engaging introduction to theater while building confidence, communication skills, creativity, and teamwork. Through acting games, improvisation, character development, and rehearsal, students work together toward a final performance for families and the school community.

Each session is led by a qualified drama instructor and includes age-appropriate activities designed for elementary and middle school learners. The program is customized for grades K–8 and concludes with a showcase at the end of the 6 week session!
